Understand your sprint. Choose your level of detail.
Testing shows what happens during your sprint. Analysis helps explain it. Choose track-based testing, a deeper individual report, or remote analysis of your own footage.
What are we looking at?
Speed tells us how quickly you cover the ground. Step length measures the distance covered with each step, while step frequency describes how quickly you take those steps. Looking at these together gives athletes and coaches a clearer picture of how a sprint is put together. More detailed analysis examines joint movement to explore the mechanics behind that performance.

Includes the Basic package’s testing and dashboard, with an individualised report that takes a closer look at joint movement. It adds detail beyond the headline sprint measurements.
What’s included
Training-session testing and timing feedback
Speed, step length and step frequency analysis
A custom performance dashboard
An in-depth individual report with more advanced analysis of joint movement
Useful when: you and your coach want a more detailed understanding of an athlete’s sprint mechanics.
Includes the Advanced package, followed by a conversation with Elis to work through the findings. Ask questions and build your understanding of the testing and analysis.
What’s included
Everything in the Basic and Advanced packages
Your individual in-depth report
A one-to-one conversation in person or virtually to explain the results and analysis
Useful when: you want time to discuss what the results mean with the person who carried out the analysis.
You provide the video and ESB analyses it remotely. Filming guidance helps you capture the footage correctly, and a client-specific shared folder gives you a place to submit it.

03 / THE PERSON BEHIND THE ANALYSIS
Elis Pryse. Attention to every detail.
I’m Elis Pryse, a Cardiff-based biomechanist with four years of experience in sprint biomechanics. I’ve always been fascinated by what separates good athletes from the very best. Working with elite athletes and coaches showed me how much attention they give to the small details — and that attention to detail is what I bring to ESB.
Elis has provided biomechanical reports for a world record holder, European Championships gold medallists, world indoor and outdoor medallists, a Diamond League champion, an Ultimate Championship champion and European U18 and U20 medallists.
Professional roles and collaborations
Elis is the official biomechanist to Team Air, and the Christian Malcolm Sports Academy and works as a biomechanist with Feldspar Sports. His experience also includes work with NCAA Division I athletes, and data collection for Welsh Athletics and UK Athletics.
Why I started ESB
I started Elite Speed Biomechanics to give athletes and coaches a clearer understanding of sprinting. The aim is to break a fast, complex movement down into information you can understand and use — identifying strengths, exploring areas for development and tracking progress.
How I work with you
I start with the questions you and your coach want to answer. From there, I use timing data, high-speed footage and biomechanical analysis to build a picture of your sprint. My focus is on explaining the findings clearly, so the science can inform a useful conversation about your training.
04 / THE ATHLETE & COACH PERSPECTIVE
Understanding that makes a difference.
“Getting in touch with ESB has allowed me to deepen my biomechanical analysis and has allowed the athletes I coach to grow technically. Part of the results obtained at the recent Olympics were definitely due to the work we did together!”

“Elis (ESB founder) has been partnered with me and the Christian Malcolm Sport Academy since 2022, and has opened my eyes to the importance of biomechanical testing. Even though our athletes are under the age of 20 he has been able to present and deliver his information in a way that we all understand and are able to act upon. Elis has always been on hand, no question is ever too small, and my understanding of speed biomechanics has improved so much thanks to the work we have done with him.
To sum it up in one sentence Elis has been worth his weight in gold in the development of our athletes.”
“ESB has helped me understand areas to improve in the most efficient way.”

BEFORE WE GET STARTED
Your questions, answered.
Do I need to change my training session?
The track-based packages are designed around non-disruptive data collection during training. Discuss the session with Elis beforehand so the testing fits your goals and training context.
Can I use footage I have already recorded?
Ask Elis before submitting it. Camera placement and the way footage is captured affect what can be analysed. The remote service includes filming guidance so you can collect suitable video.
What is the difference between a dashboard and an individual report?
The dashboard brings together sprint measurements so you can compare athletes or track an individual over time. The Advanced and Premium packages add an individual report with a closer look at joint movement. Premium also includes a one-to-one discussion.
Can my coach be involved?
ESB works with both athletes and coaches. When you enquire, explain who will use the findings and what questions you want the analysis to answer.
How much does testing cost?
Contact Elis with the package you’re interested in, your group size and your location to confirm current pricing and availability.
Share a little about your goals and training setup so we can agree the right approach before arranging a session.
Where can we work?
Based in Cardiff, ESB is available for testing across the UK and internationally. Include your location and training venue in your enquiry to discuss travel arrangements. Remote video analysis is also available.
Individual athletes and groups
Testing is available for individual athletes and groups of up to 10 athletes at a time. Tell Elis your group size, events and goals so the session can be planned around your athletes.
When will I receive the analysis?
Full report turnaround is within one week. Mention any upcoming competition or coaching deadline when enquiring so Elis can discuss the timing with you.
How should I prepare?
Share your event, training goals and the questions you and your coach want answered. Agree how testing will fit your planned session. For remote analysis, request filming guidance before recording footage.
